Product Description

The silicon carbide material is ultra hard and have a high thermal conductivity. This has led to silicon carbide being used in bearing and rotary seal applications where the increased hardness and conductivity improves seal and bearing performance. Process fluid-lubricated sliding bearings of silicon carbide are superior to conventional oil-lubricated sliding bearings in many respects: The machines or systems can have much simpler designs, complicated oil feed systems with maintenance-prone seals can be eliminated and the material properties are outstanding.
Thanks to the specific properties of sintered silicon carbide materials, the silicon carbide bearings can even operate in waters, acids and strong alkalis. The high hardness crushes foreign particles in the process fluid. The silicon carbide materials offer outstanding specific properties for use in sliding bearings.
